Netherlands Student Visa Types
Firstly, a student visa or residency permit is not required if a student is from the EU/EEA. However, international students from other countries have to get a visa. Depending on the length of their studies, they can get:
- Short Stay Visa – International students can get this study visa if they plan to study in the Netherlands for a period of 90 days or less.
- MVV – This visa allows the students to enter the Netherlands and study there for six months, however, this does not last for the whole study period.
- VVR – Followed by MVV is VVR – a residency permit for study purposes. It remains valid for the complete duration of the study program a student enrolls in.
